It began in 2005 as a modest attempt to do a little bit of good in my community of North Bay and later to pay tribute to my mother, who passed away a few years after I had started Coach4Food. Now, amazingly, seven years later we are witnessing the growth ofCoach4Food that would have been beyond our wildest dreams back at the beginning. Thanks to a Trillium grant and support and encouragement, Coach4Food was introduced to great success in Guelph and the Niagara Region in 2011.
In 2012, we added Caledon and its remarkably enthusiastic supporters.
We are excited to have parterned with the Ontario Hockey League this year, blanketing the province, allow everyone to have a hand in supporting our less fortunate, and give generations of young athletes an opportunity to learn about being active and responsible in their communities. So, to all the teams, players, parents, sponsors and everyone who supports Coach4Food, thank you.
Hats off to everyone and let’s have a fabulous Coach4Food fall!
